Hi guys & gals

Sorry for the delay on the up date, I have been busy working on starting a new business. Check out http://www.2ndskinracing.com to see what we’ve got going.

Where do I start, OK, the 2006 Vegas to Reno, what a wild ride. Things started off good until mile 160 coming out of pit 4. I went down hard, braking my thumb and still rode 430 miles to the finish in 16.5 hours, WOW!!!! Next race just 8 days after the pins were removed from my thumb, was the Las Vegas 300, where I finished 2nd Expert Ironman. To close out the year we had to drive 850 miles in a weekend. I had to race to get the #2 PLATE in Best in the Desert series, running the Henderson 400 where I finished 2nd Expert Ironman. That same night we took off to the D-38 and race to lock up the # 1 PLATE the following day in the Senior Class for the 4th year in a row. What a year it was in 2006, a long one but a good one to finish # 1 Senior in D-38 & # 2 Expert ironman in Best in the Desert.

I also raced the 2006 Baja 1000 with a great bunch of guys, ‘Baja Husky’s’. We had 2 teams, class 21 & 30. I was on the class 30 team (being 45 yrs. young). Wow!!!, what a fun time, we finish 8th out of 15 teams, first for husky to finish in over 20 years. GOOD TIMES.

2007 started off good at the Best in the Desert 'Parker 250' on a Husqvarna, where I finished 2nd Expert Ironman. Next race was the National Hare & Hound series, where I had a DNF, not a good race. Looking forward to Score racing in class 20, what fun, but due to inconvenience of a situation I was unable to race. Hope to get back on a Husqvarna soon, what a great bike. My plan was to race 35 + races, but life throws curves at you. I will finish the year out on a part time schedule. Thanks to all that supported me,
Jerry Jones

End Of Day Three, One To Go...
After roughing out a high speed crash early on day two after winning the first stage and leading his class, Jerry Jones worked his way back up to second place in Amateur IronMan on day three. The last day was a short race in comparison to what he had been through already, but not good for making up 45 min. with only 198 mi. to get 'er done. I'm glad I was there to experience the race that went on that day, because it was exciting. Jerry pressed hard out of the gate and passed the leader in the first 10 mi. to put the pressure on. By the last check point, Jerry had made up 20 min. on the leader and won the stage, but came home 2nd in Amateur IronMan and 5th Overall IronMan in just under 24Hrs. It was a great time, I thank Jerry & Ann for talking Us into going on a Great Adventure.
